The Comeback Continues

After the success of her powerful comeback single Wizard now her highest-streaming release to date Clarita de Quiroz is making it clear she’s here to stay. The UAE-born singer-songwriter is set to break new ground again with her upcoming single Bshufak Bi Ahlemi, which drops on August 1st. This marks an important milestone for Clarita: her first song sung mostly in Arabic.

A Labor of Love and Language

Unlike many tracks in her catalogue, Clarita didn’t just perform Bshufak Bi Ahlemi she wrote every line herself.

“This was probably one of the hardest songs I’ve ever done,” Clarita shares honestly. “I wrote it myself and kept getting it checked to make sure every word was right. Then I practised it over and over, line by line, word by word. I was sweating trying to get the pronunciation perfect. It was exhausting but I was determined. I probably still haven’t got it 100% right!” she laughs.

She prefers to keep the meaning a secret for now: “The song pretty much speaks for itself,” she says with a smile. “I won’t reveal too much until it’s out. Then you can ask me again!”

With just four lines in English, Bshufak Bi Ahlemi is a bold step that’s already building anticipation among her fans. “I’ve heard it’s rare for Arabic artists to write their own lyrics. I don’t know if that’s completely true, but I knew this one had to come from me.”

The Rise of Yallabye

While Bshufak Bi Ahlemi waits for its debut, Clarita’s current single Yallabye is continuing her upward momentum. Described as a fiery anthem of self-worth and moving on, Yallabye is quickly on track to match Wizard’s streaming numbers if not surpass them.

Though Clarita didn’t pen the lyrics for Yallabye, her delivery packs a punch that makes the song completely her own. Now, the track is about to get a fresh twist: a high-energy official remix by global house music heavyweight Jerry Ropero renowned for club classics like Coracao and remixes for P!nk, Tiësto, and Bob Sinclar.

“Jerry’s remix brings a whole new vibe to the song,” Clarita says excitedly. “It’s international, it’s
fierce, and it’s something people won’t expect.”

Why She Skipped the Music Video

One surprise for fans was that Clarita didn’t appear in the music video for Yallabye a first for her. But as always, she’s refreshingly real about why.

“Honestly, I didn’t have time,” she says, smiling. “I was on holiday in Europe, eating way too much pizza and cheese. I didn’t want to cut my family time short, and I had to make a choice.”

That choice meant skipping the video shoot. But there was another reason too.

“I’m also in the middle of the most demanding phase of my doctoral degree deep in data collection. It’s taking so much of my focus right now, and I had to prioritise.”

Creative differences played a role too. Clarita admits none of the video concepts clicked with her: “We went through four different ideas with dancers, different sets everything. But it didn’t feel right. I’m very intuitive, and I couldn’t force it. I didn’t write the song, and the visuals didn’t connect for me.”

Instead, the final video was created using AI and went through five edits before it felt right enough to share.

“It’s not perfect. But that’s life. I’m human, and in the end, it’s all about the music.”

A Voice that Crosses Borders

Whether she’s singing in Arabic or English, behind the camera or in front of it, Clarita de Quiroz is driven by honesty, craft, and courage. With each song, she’s showing that true reinvention doesn’t have to shout it can unfold naturally, one step at a time.

Her fans know one thing for sure: wherever her journey leads next, it will be on her own terms unapologetically real, passionately made, and impossible to ignore.
